The Core of how I choose to live.

I found this page last night, and it struck a chord in me.  Finally, I have something I can bring up to express what I have stumbled in trying to convey for some time.  This is what I feel to the core as a deep Truth.  It covers not just how we interact with others, but how we should live within the World Ecosystem.  I felt it especially pertinent today, given that tomorrow we will give Thanks for all the good things that are a part of our lives, as we enjoy the company of family and friends.  I am not sure if I can quote the text of the Creed directly here, I may edit this and quote it, if I find I have permission to do so.  I have recieved permission to quote the text, so you will find it below.  

Lakota Instructions for Living

Friend do it this way – that is,
whatever you do in life,
do the very best you can
with both your heart and mind.

And if you do it that way,
the Power Of The Universe
will come to your assistance,
if your heart and mind are in Unity.

When one sits in the Hoop Of The People,
one must be responsible because
All of Creation is related.
And the hurt of one is the hurt of all.
And the honor of one is the honor of all.
And whatever we do effects everything in the universe.

If you do it that way – that is,
if you truly join your heart and mind
as One – whatever you ask for,
that’s the Way It’s Going To Be.

A creed and life philosophy I hold Dear
